Our English program provides students with a comprehensive knowledge
of punctuation, sentence structure, as well as proper grammar use,
research and writing skills.
In recent times,
it has not been uncommon for students to NOT learn basic grammar
in school. Yet mastering one's language and understanding how to
communicate properly in one's language is crucial to literacy and
success!
Unique
to our program is a comprehensive study on how to use a dictionary.
The dictionary as a tool has become practically extinct. Students
learn to use a dictionary as a tool and as a means of increasing
their vocabulary.
Research skills
are included in our program beginning at a young age, since preliminarily,
a child needs to learn how to observe, then learn how to extrapolate
useful and pertinent information, all preliminary skills to the
writing of actual research reports.
At the appropriate
level, how to write effective research papers, nonfiction writing,
fiction writing, and public speaking skills are taught.
The result of
our English curriculum is a student who can communicate correctly
and effectively, both in writing and speech.
