After school tutoring for students not enrolled at Lewis Carroll Academy is available on campus.

The general current standard of education across the nation does not, unfortunately, tend to address students' individual needs and comprehension of the curriculum being studied. Children tend to memorize to pass tests. Students get passed from grade to grade with the equivalent of a "D", "C" or even "B" grade average. A child will know a datum for a day or a week, cramming for finals, and then forget it by the following week.

The size of classrooms and number of faculty members in most of our schools do not allow the one-on-one attention needed to ensure each student's 100 percent understanding of subjects being studied.

Most often, as an example, a child having difficulty in math will be found to have missing math basics that are hindering his progress through his current grade. The child's frustrations and anxieties are not handled by merely tutoring him through his homework.

Lewis Carroll Academy offers laser-precise testing in the three R's, as well as math facts. We locate where the child was last doing well in a subject, and where his difficulties began. He is then given a tailor-made tutoring program which addresses his weak points and fills in missing basics.

Older students are also taught an extremely workable study method which allows them to retain the information they've studied, so as to be able to apply it.

The end result is a student who understands, retains and can apply his materials, and one who is HAPPY in school.
